The Academy for Community Leadership provides opportunities for people to develop the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to influence decision-making processes and participate in local democracy and to ensure delivery of successful regeneration programmes. Since 2003, this unique demand led brokerage model has matched the needs of community organisations and practitioners with training and learning providers across South Yorkshire. The Academy provides:

• Commissioning training programmes to meet identified needs
• Development of accreditation, curriculum and qualification frameworks
• Bursaries to fund training identified by individuals
• Community support: community planning, resources, bespoke training for groups
• Support for training providers including a Community Trainers Network and quality support.
• Events including South Yorkshire Community Network and, Defining Community Leadership Conference and Community Leadership Day
